Heat Transfer Deterioration by the Copper Oxide Layer on Horizontal Subcooled Flow Boiling

چکیده

Water–copper is one of the most common combinations working fluid and heating surface in high-performance cooling systems. Copper usually selected for its high thermal conductivity water heat transfer coefficient, especially two-phase regime. However, copper tends to suffer oxidation presence thus flux performance affected. In this research, an experimental investigation was conducted using a cooper bare as under constant mass 600 kg·m−2·s−1 deionized at subcooled inlet temperature ΔTsub 70 K atmospheric pressure conditions on closed-loop. To confirm deterioration, experiment repeated thirteen times. On flow boiling region after experiments, results show increase wall superheat ΔTsat approximately 26% reduction 200 kW·m−2. other hand, effect single phase almost marginal.

Experimental measurement of heat transfer coefficient and mass of deposited CaSO4 in subcooled flow boiling condition

Fouling is a common, fundamental and costly problem in heat transfer systems, which reduces thermal efficiency of equipment, increases the energy loss and causes strong damage to the heat transfer equipment in various industries. The main causes of fouling on the heat transfer surfaces are salts with inverse temperature-solubility in the fluid which calcium sulfate is one of the most important ...

The Effect of Linear Change of Tube Diameter on Subcooled Flow Boiling and Critical Heat Flux

One of the major industry problems is the flow boiling, where reaching to the critical heat flux (CHF) condition can lead to a temperature jump and damage of the systems. In the present study, the effects of a uniform change in tube diameter on subcooled flow boiling and CHF was numerically investigated. The Euler-Euler model was used to investigate the relationship between the two liquid and v...

Highly subcooled pool boiling heat transfer at various gravity levels

A microscale heater array 2:7 mm 2:7 mm in size along with a video camera was used to provide subcooled pool boiling heat transfer measurements at gravity levels ranging from 1.8g to 10 g. The fluid was FC-72 at 1 atm and subcooled by nominally 36 C for all cases. A Terrier–Orion sounding rocket and the KC-135 aircraft were used to provide the microgravity and low-g environments, respectively. ...
